Why Are Gyms So Expensive?!

seriously. ugh.

I will only be at home for seven weeks until I leave for Japan, and don’t really have the money to pay a ridiculous amount for not even a full two months. It’s always that high enrollment fee that gets me.

But I am dying to go to the gym.

I lack motivation to workout at home and only have 8lb dumbbells anyway haha….

Any advice/tips??

Cookie Dough Oatmeal Bake for ONE!
Servings: 1 | Calories: Around 180
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup oats (50g)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
sweetener, such as 1 1/2 T maple syrup or 1 to 1 1/2 packs stevia (Omit if wanted!)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (60g) (Or sub banana… it’s awesome this way!)
1/4 cup milk, creamer, juice, or water (I used 60g)
1/8 tsp salt
Handful of chocolate chips (and a few for the top, too!)
Optional: unless you like the taste of fat-free baking, add 1-2T oil, vegan butter, or nut butter (If oil, scale the milk back a little. If vegan butter, scale the salt back a little.)
Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cinnamon (If you like cinnamon in chocolate chip cookies)
PROCEDURE:
Preheat oven to 380 degrees. Combine dry ingredients, then mix in wet. Pour into a small baking pan, loaf pan, or 1-cup ramekin (or, for mini boats, two 1/2-cup ramekins) Cook for 20 minutes, or more until it’s firm. Finally, set your oven to “high broil” for 3-5 more minutes (or simply just bake longer, but broiling gives it a nice crust). *Don’t forget to spray your ramekins first if you want your cakes to pop out.*

must try.

Here Goes Nothing

Hey, everyone! Welll……Welcome, I guess! haha :)

To be honest, I am not exactly sure what I am doing, besides jumping on the fitness tumblr bandwagon, but all I know is I love reading other people’s blogs about their fitness journeys and hope that someday you’ll love reading mine too!

So, now, a little introduction! My name is Natalie, I am 19, and just finished my freshman year of college (woo! woo!). For the past year or so I have been experimenting with clean eating, well struggling with clean-eating more or less, as life can get crazy when you rely on the cafeteria for your meals. This summer I hope to start taking my clean-eating seriously, because I love the way it makes me feel and look! I am going to Japan this summer for a month (!) so I want to try and get my eating down now and get into the habit before my trip as when I am there, I plan on enjoying their amazing culture and food.

I also have been doing weight-training and loving it! But am currently trying to figure out how to afford a gym membership for the summer since I’ll only be home for like 7 weeks…hmmmmm any suggestions? So when I get back from my trip, I plan on really hitting the gym and kitchen hard! Oh, did I mention my PE class next fall will be weight training ;) ahh yeahhh watch out boys! hehe

Anyways, I hope this blog will provide entertainment, motivation, and relief as I will try to be as real as I can be in my struggles with body image and fitness (expect a post about this struggle sometime in the near future).

Hope you’re having a happy, healthy day!
